Korean skin care in 10 steps

When it comes to flawless beauty, Korea is way ahead of us. True to the motto "less make-up, more skincare", great importance is attached to a daily and careful care routine. Korean skin care usually includes 10 steps, which we will now introduce to you:

Korean cosmetics are also very trendy in the USA. So it's no wonder that there are some online shops that offer Korean premium brands such as MISSHA, Benton, Mizon or Dr. Offer Jart+. The reason for the boom is logical, because the flawless complexion of Korean women has become the ideal of beauty for many women - pore less, even, wrinkle-free and always glory.

Korean skin care in 10 steps

Before you start cleaning your face, you should remove your eye make-up thoroughly. Korean women like to use mild eye make-up remover without alcohol. The soaked cotton pad is first placed on the eyes for a few seconds so that the active ingredients gently dissolve the mascara and the like before it is removed.

Step 1: Oil based cleaning

Oil cleansing is the most basic step in Korean facial cleansing and is one of the absolute beauty secrets! The valuable oils pull all oily deposits out of the pores and are also an effective weapon for oily and impure skin , as they eliminate pimples and blackheads. The cleansing oil is gently massaged into the facial skin with your fingers and rinsed off with warm water.

Step 2: Double Cleanse

Typical of Korean skin care: the double cleanse. In the next step, a foam or cream cleanser is used to remove all remaining dirt from the pores. The cleansing foam is massaged into the skin with circular movements for a few minutes. This stimulates circulation and thoroughly cleanses the skin. The foam is then rinsed off with warm water.

Step 3: Exfoliate

The skin should be exfoliated once or twice a week. This frees the skin of dead skin cells, deeply cleanses the pores and supports the healing of impurities. However, if you have very dry or sensitive skin, we recommend that you skip this care step altogether.

Step 4: Toners

A toner not only refreshes the skin, but is also the perfect preparation for the subsequent care products. In Korean skin care, the toner primarily has a regulating and moisturizing effect. The pH value of the skin is balanced again. Ingredients of the care products can now penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and unfold their full effect there.

Step 5: Essence

An essence consists of 80-90% fermented yeast cultures. The ingredients are broken down into their individual amino acids, vitamins and similar components and can thus penetrate the skin particularly intensively. There they stimulate the production of the body's own hyaluronic acid and have a positive effect on the skin's moisture balance. To use, put a few drops of the essence on the face and gently pat the liquid in from bottom to top with your fingers until the essence is completely absorbed.

Step 6: Serum

Sera are usually characterized by the highly concentrated ingredients and can be used for different needs and skin problems. Serums can provide an extra moisture kick, fight blemishes, minimize wrinkles, tighten the skin and fight other specific skin imperfections. The application of a serum is usually the same as the application of the essence.

Step 7: Sheet Mask

Sheet masks have their place in Korean beauty care. These are fleece masks that are soaked in various care ingredients - from acai berries and ginseng to snail slime and hyaluronic acid, there is the right sheet mask for every skin need and almost every part of the body. About twice a week, the sheet mask is placed on the face for 15 to 20 minutes, then the mask is removed and the remaining fluid is gently massaged in with the fingertips.

Step 8: Eye Cream

The skin around the eyes is particularly thin and this is usually where the first signs of aging appear. That is why the skin around the eyes needs an extra dose of care. Korean eye creams often contain collagen, which prevents wrinkles from forming and reduces existing wrinkles. Korean women always apply eye cream before facial care.

Step 9: care cream

Pale skin, scaly patches and small wrinkles are clear indications of a lack of moisture, which is why care creams and moisturizers are the be-all and end-all. Used mornings and evenings, moisturizers moisturize the skin and protect against environmental influences. In the evening, a rich night care can also be applied.

Step 10: UV Protection

Korean skincare ends with sunscreen. Despite the immense importance for skin aging, sun protection is often underestimated. However, Korean women never leave the house without sunscreen.
